Management Library

"A moment's insight is sometimes worth a life's experience." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
The Institute's library of insights is a selection of some of
the best management quotations and anecdotes. They are the pearls of management
experience. They empower you in your work and communications. This section
provides you an open access, non-commercial service, aiming to advance the
management profession through open education and knowledge sharing. Insights are
part of executive decision-making and everyday performance. These management
insights can be invaluable in case studies and discussion. Successful executives
are expected to be able to articulate such insights and explain how they apply
to their work and organizations.
The best way to make use of these insights is to read each one carefully,
contemplate its meaning and reflect on it within the context of your work,
situation or life experience.
Word of caution:
It is important to note that these insights provide a noteworthy point of
view rather than absolute truths. Some insights are even contradictory, yet they
all present interesting lessons. The Institute does not endorse approve or
disapprove of any statement, insight, point of view or source of such
statements. They are presented here for the purpose of education and learning.
Like all things you learn, do not be tempted to use the source of an insight
as the point of validity for an argument. Instead use it as support of a similar
experience. In other words your argument should have its own merits and its own
supporting evidence. When you quote such insights make sure your action follows
your words as "action speaks louder than words"
